Who is :putnam: emoticon?

Who is this person that appears in :putnam: emoticon? He is Chris Putnam, software engineer at Facebook. In a video :putman: talks about its new HD video feature. He also talks about how he got his job at Facebook, which is quite interesting because it wasn't with a traditional interview.  The video is no longer available.
